{2.15 - 2.21}

We went ice fishing a couple of times this year. The girls LOVE fishing! The first time we went out, it was a little traumatic! Lyla threw up on our way there and then Alya fell hip-deep into a fishing hole. The second time we went (pictured) went much more smoothly!

{2.8 - 2.14}

More from California! We took a trip to the San Diego Zoo. It was really hot, and we didn't get to see much, but the girls really enjoyed seeing the elephants and visiting the petting zoo!

{2.1 - 2.7}

We went to California this week! Matthew's mom was celebrating a birthday, so we were able to take a vacation! We had a lot of fun visiting Sea World and hanging out on the beach! The girls were pretty terrified of the water. They warmed up to it by the time we left, but were still pretty nervous. It was pretty funny!

There is nothing more fun than cleaning the beaters when making cookies for a long drive!
Their first time on the beach - watching the ocean from what we thought was a safe distance! The waves came in fast and got us all wet. I think it scared them and they were nervous of the ocean for the rest of the trip!

Lyla touching sharks at Sea World.
Alya pouting at Sea World.
We got to watch the killer whales and a funny skit with this seal and a little otter!
They liked the penguins! The flamingos were too stinky! They still talk about how stinky the flamingos were! (I am posting this in June...we were at Sea World in February!)

{1.25 - 1.31}

Guys! I have been MIA for a while now...about 6 months now, apparently!
I wish I could remember more about what happened in January...I guess that's why I take pictures. Even though I don't remember much about what exactly happened, at least I have cute photos to look through!

Lyla loves her stuffed animals and jewelry! Everywhere we go - to play in the snow, in the car, even in the bathtub - she likes to have her friends with her!

The girls had their first hair cut this week! They did SO good! They sat so well for Syndi and then Aunt Patty even pampered them with fresh nail polish! They had so much fun! (Notice Lyla's jewelry!)

{1.18 - 1.24}

The girls enjoyed putting their Cootie Bugs to bed this morning. They kept telling them, "don't bite people!" I think, because when I tuck them into bed I always tell them "goodnight, sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite!"
They have been pretty cute about taking care of their stuffed animals. Always making sure they have a pillow and a blanket when they are tired!

{1.11 - 1.17}

*Alya*

We FINALLY made it to the park! I feel like we have been cooped up in the house for so long, because it's been so bitter cold! And the girls have NOT enjoyed being cold this year. I think they were more resilient a year ago!
 *Lyla*

{1.4 - 1.10}

 Lyla noticed Mo was sleeping and she didn't want him to get cold. I think she used every towel in my kitchen!
 "I just cross stitching." Left: Lyla   Right: Alya
The girls are finally going to sleep in their new beds! They were so excited to help Dad put them together in their room!
They love them so much they couldn't stop touching them!
I think this is possibly one of my favorite moments I've ever caught Alya in. She locked Mo in her bedroom so that she could read him stories! It was adorable!!!
Dad really started something this day. Lyla now thinks it's the greatest thing to paint your face whenever you have the chance!
The girls' first ice fishing trip of 2016. It was...an adventure. Lyla threw up on our way there. Alya fell in one of the fishing holes and then she got stabbed by a fish fin. They FROZE after about an hour and there was no consoling them until they were warmed up in the truck. Despite all of that, it was a pretty great day!
We all thought it was pretty awesome when Lyla's fish stuck to her coat!
