.two months.

10.25.2016

12 lbs. 14 oz. (80%) ... 24 1/4" long (93%)
The past two months have flown by! This little guy is so happy all most of the time. He loves to show off his adorable smile, and he is happy to lay on the floor and kick around - especially when his tummy is full and he's not tired.  When he sits in his monkey chair he will just stare at and smile to the monkeys dangling above his head.
He'd always prefer to be held, except sometimes when he is tired and just doesn't really know what he wants. He likes to be held facing outward so that he can see what is going on around him. He likes to watch his sisters play, and is feeling more comfortable when they hold him.
He is a talker! I LOVE it! He coos and squeaks and sighs. It's adorable!!
When he gets tired he likes to be swaddled and we can usually lay him in his bed kind of awake. He only naps for about  30 minutes every 2 1/2 - 3 hours, but he sleeps great at night! He goes to bed around 8:30 and sleeps until around 4:30, eats, then goes back to bed until 7:30 or 8:00.
He eats really fast! It only takes him about 10 minutes to fill up his tummy, and he is still eating every 2 1/2 - 3 hours throughout the day.
He is wearing mostly 3 month clothes.
He doesn't like his car seat. He does okay if I put him in it right after he's eaten, but once he's had enough, he lets us know! Thank goodness he will take a binky as that is the only thing that will pacify him when he's had enough of his car seat. (And even that doesn't always work!)
He is finding his fists! He tries so hard to get his thumb in his mouth, but can't quite figure out how to pull his thumb away from his fingers, so he settles on sucking on his knuckles for now. I'm wondering if we will have a thumb sucker in the family!
His sisters (mostly Alya lately) lights up every time she sees Axel in the mornings, and she just wants to hold him as often as she can (until he starts squishing her) Haha!!
We love you buddy!!

{10.17.16 - 10.23.16}

Lyla (I will always know that it's her because of the amount of stuff she has in her hands) insisted on wearing mismatched shoes to the store. Who am I to argue!?

{10.10.16 - 10.16.16}

The girls can-NOT wait until we carve pumpkins. They go through these books almost daily!
Fall is here and the girls are loving that it's "naining leafeses!"
Leaf angels.
We got two garbage bags full of carrots this year!
Axel's first Sunday at church - it was Stake Conference...so I guess it was a great practice day!
Tummy time on sister! // Look at his cute little toes sticking out of his blanket!

{10.3.16 - 10.9.16}

It was not nearly cold enough for the girls to need scarves, but they wanted to wear them to help dad in the garden!

The girls were playing photographer. Alya even had me posing for her. ("Now put your head on that pillow." *click* "Now put your cheek right here.") Then they wanted to take a picture with me! Who am I to say no!?
I love his smiles!!
The girls have really been into their baby dolls the last couple of weeks. They are super cute little mommies. They give their babies a bottle or nurse them, swaddle them and then rock them to sleep.
We put up our Halloween decorations and the girls were way into it! The whole time we were decorating they kept telling me how excited they were to show their dad! As soon as he got home they took him all over the house and showed him everything they put up!
They love being birds! Even when they are swinging they flap their wings.
Sometimes while I'm nursing, all I want is a little peace and quiet, but the girls always seem to end up at the foot of my bed. Sometimes they are playing and sometimes they are fighting, and while I would love some quiet time all to myself (and Axel), I love having these two around!
We went up north while Dad was hunting over the weekend, and somehow Lyla talked my mom into buying her a new outfit. She couldn't wait to put her new skirt, sweater and crown (headband) on. So here she is, with her new clothes on over the leggings she wore for the day, with Daxton's old slippers on her feet and a toy she picked out for Mo (which she also somehow conned my mom into purchasing.)
Alya also picked out a new skirt, but she didn't need a new blouse because "she already had enough shirts at home."
On a side note, the girls have been picking out their own clothes these days. They come upstairs with some awesome combinations sometimes! But can I tell you a secret? I have been so excited for the day that they choose what they want to wear! I'm not even embarrassed to take them out in public (probably because we either don't go anywhere, or we just go to Walmart.)
The little man and I were bored in the house while sisters were sleeping, so I put him in his little jacket at we went out and sat on the porch. He loves being outside and looked so cute in his jacket!
I just can't resist those eyes!
Axel rolled over twice in one day. He has not done it again! Haha!

{9.26.16 - 10.2.16}

All three kids had their well child visit on September 26. Axel is doing great and has hit his first milestone...smiling! He is 11.3 pounds, is 22.5 long.
The girls were so excited to go to the doctors! They told me on the way there that they were going to be shy to Kristina (Dr. Nay's nurse) but that they were not going to be shy to Dr. Nay. Alya was still a little shy!
Lyla weighs 32.4 pounds (50-75%)* and is 3 feet 3 inches tall (75-90%)*
Alya weighs 33 pounds (50-75%)* and is 3 feet 3.5 inches tall (75-90%)*
I have been telling the girls that their doctor won't let them turn three unless they can tell him their full name. They normally don't talk to Dr. Nay because they are shy, but they actually told him their names! He of course listened to their lungs and hearts and checked their throats, ears and backs (for scoliosis) and had them stand on one foot. They passed with flying colors and are already hitting a lot of their 4 year milestones!

*These percentages were estimates based on what I could find online.
My friend, Amber came down and spent the night and then we got up the next morning and took the kiddos on a drive around the Nebo loop and stopped at the Grotto Trail for a short hike. It was a BEAUTIFUL drive and such a fun hike! We followed a little stream all the way up, and there were lots of little bridges or cut down trees with flattened tops for us to cross the stream. The leaves were beautiful and covered most of the path! And there was a pretty little waterfall at the end of the hike!

The kids did GREAT! Axel slept the whole way and the girls carried their backpacks with treats and water for themselves without complaint! It's definitely a hike I think we will do again!
